Hello, I just joined this site, just looking to learn more about chickens. I just got some, ordered them from McMurray Hatchery, and they arrived today.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I just picked up my first chickens today at the post office
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Ordered 23 females, 2 males, but they sent me one extra male and one free exotic
(3) What breeds do you have?
I ordered Barred Rocks, as I have read they do well in colder climates, and I live in Minnesota. I'm not sure what my free "exotic" chick is yet.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google-ing information about chickens, barred rocks, and just plain researching them
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Well, my most basic hobby is being a mommy. My husband and I also show ADBA American Pit Bull Terriers, and we keep rainbowfish and severums as well.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Well, I have a son that is 10 months old, and a husband. I'm a stay-at-home mom, that also grooms as-needed at a salon owned by someone I know (I was a full time groomer for about 8 years before becoming a SAHM) We own 3 American Pit Bull Terriers that we show in ADBA conformation shows, when we are able to get to them. That is pretty much me in a nutshell, I guess
