I never thought I'd be posting in a group for "backyard chickens", but here I am!
We live in NM, we have Australorps and Silver Laced Wyandottes (no roosters). We got our first two Australorps from my in-laws who gave us "their best chickens". We named them Flappy & Lola. We got two baby Australorps the next Spring and named them Rosebud and Badger. Late last year we "lost" Flappy & Rosebud - literally lost them. Went out one morning and they were gone, no sign of feathers or blood, just gone.
This Spring we got the Wyandottes and named them Runny & Stripes. Yesterday morning we found Lola in the coop on the ground.
No idea what happened to her, so now we're down to 3.
I joined this forum because I want to know more about backyard chickens, possibly find out what happened to our Lola and learn more for future chickens.
P.S: Yes, we name our pets funny names
