Hello! New-ish

Silkie- Marshmallow
Silver laced Wyandotte- Sheba
Black Astralorp- chick Norris
Crested cream legbar- Henrrietta
Welsummer/game bird- Maggie
Olive Egger- Olivia
Amerucana- Penny

You have a nice mix of breeds and I love the names of your chickens. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. :o)

I recommend ducks over chickens hanahhaha but in order to be open minded I'll mention that a friend of mine recently have 12 silkies hatch! I'm positive he's not interested in keeping all 12 either so pm me!

Thank you! My kids named 3 and my husband named one, then I named the rest!
I have my sights set on adding a jersey giant! So we will see how that goes!

You're welcome. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children, and Jersey Giants are another gentle breed that are ideal for children.

Welcome!!! Your chicken's names sound like the names of my chickens, haha ( my kids named most of mine). I totally understand the quick chicken addiction! Happened to me too! Glad to have ya!!
