Hello, everybody! I’m Elisa. My family and I have been raising egg laying backyard chickens for a year and a half now. We currently have 2 gris cendre and 3 Embrapa 051 (a hybrid between Rhode Island Red and Plymouth Rock, specially developed to the Brazilian environment). We raise them both for the eggs and the company and we love them very much! Although we live in a big city and normally have very busy schedules, with the pandemic we were forced to adopt a slower pace and ended up loving it. Along with the chickens, we also started to grow fruits and vegetables and to keep native bees in our backyard. We are a family of four people (my kids are 10 and 12) and 3 dogs (a Brazilian terrier 14+ years old and her 2 daughters). I have been following the community for a while now and I am very happy to finally join!
