Hi Everyone. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Janine. I live in Arizona, and I'm retired from having a "day job", but am an author of horror novels. I am new to having backyard chickens. My neighbor asked me to take care of hers while she and her husband were away for a week for Memorial Day 2023, and I became hooked. My husband and I now have our own chickens - 6 Red Star hens that we purchased in early October and they started laying around Thanksgiving. I love my girls, and it is so much better having fresh eggs instead of store bought. I'm hoping to not only learn a lot here, but as my experience grows, I hope to contribute a lot as well.
