Hello all!

I am new to poultry of all sorts and just moved to a place where I can have them a few years ago. After getting settled in, putting up fencing, and all kinds of other fun stuff I am ready to start a flock! I look at reddit a lot and have ordered several books about backyard chickens and I specifically will be raising them in an urban setting. My city allows me to keep up to 6 hens (no roosters) with a proper permit.

Before I jump into chickens I am here to gather more knowledge, and I have also acquired my first flock of quail recently! From some google search results it looks like quail raisers are welcome here. 16 baby coturnix to be exact. I figure they are not regulated or prohibited by my town, and would be a fun way to start learning the ins and outs of poultry husbandry. I got them at about a week old so it has been really fun watching them in their brooder set up!

Other than my newfound interest in backyard poultry, I enjoy almost any sort of outside activity, will be setting up a garden this year, I enjoy fishing and hunting as well. Looking forward to combing through some posts and threads here - not many forum type sites like this around anymore, and I definitely miss this kind of format!
