Hello all!
I’m new to BYC hoping to find help in expanding my flock.
I’ve had chickens, ducks, turkeys my entire life. Currently I have 4 Light Brahmas, 3 Dark Brahmas and 2 Salmon Faverolles; all hens, less than a year. I had the unfortunate experience of a mink getting into my coop in 2017 and killing all of my chickens. This year my family decided to get back into it with my two young children. Along with our hens we also have one female Rouen, one of only 2 survivors of the mink attack. My female Indian runner who had survived as well has since passed of old age. We’re hoping to add more ducks to our flock, specifically call ducks. I have been looking for the past few years hoping to find some in reasonable driving distance from the NY Catskills. I have been searching with no luck, messages with no response. I’ve found first come first serve but as a mother with two young kids and a full time job dropping everything to hit the road for ducks is almost impossible. I would love to find a trio or a pair of females to start. Any information, advice or leads would be greatly appreciated.
