Hello, new to raising chickens for eggs

Hello all,

I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Christopher but I go by Doc. I am a 100% service connected disabled Veteran who raised Chickens as a kid for 4H 30 years ago or so. I am getting back into raising chickens again with my wife for eggs. It is something we can do together. I am also an avid cyclist and work with a program called ProjectHero. Today, I am helping my wife in building a larger coop and run. I am always open in learning new ideas and I am hoping to raise an Ameraucana and a Buff Orpington.
 
Ameraucanas are great birds, i don't own any buff orpingtons, but i do know if you want a lot of good eggs you should get a few gold stars. I own one and she lays eggs for me daily.
