Hello back at you, Sen! Guess we'll be learning together here! I know I won't be getting any chicks until it gets a little warmer here and I have to make the coop and so on...
Do let us know if you manage to get any girls.
I have a mix of large breeds, Bantams and Silkies and have no problem with them getting along. In fact the head Roo is a little red Cochin Bantam, the smallest rooster in the bunch.
Just to set the record straight, you may call me Chicken Lytle.
I started with chickens over the summer because I wanted a secure source of good quality eggs. The people of BYC have been very helpful. I blogged about the process. Feel free to visit my BYC Page for links you may find informative or amusing. Don't click the blog link in my sig because it currently points to a sad article that you should not read unless you are prepared for it.
I would suggest you consider why you want chickens and use those thoughts to guide your breed selection.
