I am new to chickens and to this site. I have 3 hens that were hatched in March and they are cooped with my Mom and Dad's flock. They have 6 that are a few months older than mine and then they have 2 hens and a rooster that are approximately a year old. My parents are also new to chickens this year. I was doing a search online to see if I could give my chickens raisins and came across this site. This is nice to have a place to come to for questions.

I'm not a 100% positive, but I recall reading somewhere that raisins are not recommended as 'treats' for them. Something about the high sugar count, etc. I could be wrong, though...someone else here might have better info for you...good luck with your little flock!!

Welcome to BYC!

Oh, raisins are to die for!! They love them. Keep them to a minimum as they are very sugary. But they are not harmful and the birds will love them!!

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!
