Hello, I am patonbyc and a new member. I will have a separate post regarding assistance with a hen that has lost all of her bottom feathers!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We first got our hens in June 2020. So we have made it over a year, but I still consider myself a newby.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have eight hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Australorp, Rhode Island Red, Americaunas (2), Buff Orpington, Plymouth Barred Rock (2), Golden Wyandotte.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Raising our own eggs. Being able to provide safe and healthy feed to the hens.
(5) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
My wife originally joined BYC when we first got the chickens and has gotten good information from other chicken owners.
