I am trying to figure out what the sex of my two moscovy ducklings are.

we think hen and we call her zoey?

we think drake we call him tippy toes?

Is there much size difference ? Hard to tell in the pictures. How old are they? They look about 4 weeks from their feathering in but they both look chunky . Could you do a photo from above with them side by side?

any body have any idea what sex my ducks are?

They are precious!

I am not a 'scovy person, but there are some on the forum. But sometimes it takes a while for them to have time to check in. I know with the mallard-derived ducks, after a month or so, the girls quack and the boys continue to peep a bit, then the drake voice rasp starts to come in.

Pictures mess with perspective so it's harder to tell. Anyways, look at the feet, legs, overall size, generally drakelets outsize ducklets by 3-4wks old.. there sizing becomes insane, it almost appears the ducks stop to grow, they don't just they don't grow like the boys do.

Basing on what i can see, one is definitely a drake now the other appears slightly smaller, but do a comparison since you can hold them. The ducks are quite small, i have one from my June hatch right now.

I'll add a new comparison, this is half of my June clutch, the yellow one is a drake, the chocolate is showing up like a duck. You can see the overall size difference, there 4kws old.

It is so hard to tell, I keep staring at the photos and one seems slightly smaller than the other but its hard to tell. The girls normally get little flight feathers coming through at this age, they just look like little needles poking out of the last bit of wing. Do either of them have flight feathers coming through?

yes zoey the smaller one does have little pokey things sticking out her flight wings and tippy toe does not but he is getting dark green on his wing and zoey is still a plan brown color
