Hello, Thank you for allowing me to join your group.

I'm very sorry about the loss of your daughter. I bet she would be happy you're keeping busy being so creative. I wish I had a tiny bit of your talent.

There are so many great chickens to choose from and you can learn about them all here. I saw the links in other replies above.

We are here in Wisconsin and stick with just silkies as we love their beauty and personalities.

Welcome to BYC! :frow 🤗

I found BYC on a Facebook post tonight. I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia in a small town right below where the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway meet with my husband, we are retired. My husband does landscape oil painting and he is currently remodeling our bathroom. I watercolor from time to time, and I also knit, crochet, and sew. Lately, I've been making quilts, all sewn and quilted by hand. We lost our grown daughter to leukemia (AML) six and a half years ago. We do not have any other children or grandchildren. We do not have any pets currently, though I'd like to get another house cat and some chickens for our backyard. We have just begun to explore the idea of having our own chickens therefore I am so happy to join BYC as I'm sure we'll learn a lot from everyone in this group, so thank you for allowing me to join!
Hello to you! Of course, we're so glad to have you join. But, now a small joining fee will apply. Ha no! But Shenandoah! Blessed land, her seasons and songs once poured into my heart and have never left. No wonder your husband is inspired to paint in oils. And I wonder what breed of chicken you might be interested in? Darling Silkies, dependable Australorps, kind and industrious Isa Browns, or strutty Leghorns? (Et al).
