Hi! This is my first time here and wanted to say hello to everyone here! We have two barred plymouth rocks. We got both from the feed store and both were supposed to be female, however one is a male. It looks a lot different from the other one and always has but I would read how some hens have darker colored waddles and combs and some also have larger sizes than other hens. It was also VERY vocal in the morning as well as throughout the day but hasn't crowed yet. I had a feeling it was practicing to develop its crow. Well on this lovely morning, my husband and I heard it crow. I also read that roosters have more pointed feathers on their tails but it both appeared to have the same shape feathers, rounded. I am pretty sure we have another rooster on our hands. That is our journey so far!!!!
