I've enjoyed reading some posts. This is my 3rd round at raising chickens with many years in between. So, starting over and really enjoying it. I'm really starting over, my old lone self in my new old country home, my dogs and cats, chickens and gardens. I've got 16 beautiful hens and 3 roos. I have 3 gold laced wyandotte. (I had wanted 6 of each type but 3 went Roo on me), 7 Buff Orpingtons and 6 Easter Eggers. They were born Feb. 21 and started laying about 4 1/2 months. I didn't want roosters but they seem sort of OK for now. In any case, they are doing their job and one of my EE's has been stubbornly sitting a nest all by herself in a little tractor coop, night and day for 9 days. I have to say I didn't really expect this and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions with regards to safe space for any chicks that hatch. I've also only had same age chicks prior and never introduced new additions. My question for today is, has anyone had eggs from a GLW and EE cross, interested to know what color. Thank you.
