I have just six Black-Sex links chickens. They're hilarious, especially my rooster. I got them in August, and the winter's been harsh up here.
The Rooster: Zeus, thinks he's proud and mighty until something scares him, then runs and hides into either a nest or Hera.
The Hens: Hera, the lead hen, Pandora: Second in command, Aphrodite: Zeus' number one babe, Medea: always seems to be plotting, Artemis: the scrawny, but fast running hen.
I've raised them since I got them from the hatchery. Zeus, I have babied with lots of treats. When he was younger he had the look of an eagle.
I'll probably be confronted with problems as I have never owned chickens before. Most folks around here just let their chickens run free.
