(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

New-ish, only about a year and a half in.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

28

(3) What breeds do you have?

Barred Rock, Buff Orphington, Rhode Island, Ameraucana, Australorp, Welsummer, one more that I cant remember.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Eggs, their poop and bedding in the compost pile, they're goofy animals and eggs.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Cutting firewood, scrap metal, fishing


(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Married, 11 y.o. daughter, 3 german shepherds, 3 acres in the sticks.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I want to check out other peoples set-ups

I like to fish sometimes as well. Welcome!
 
I think yours is the first intro I've read that mentioned poop as one of the poster's favorite aspects of raising chickens; however, since I haul a great deal of poop to the compost pile, I totally understand where you're coming from.

"Three acres in the sticks" sounds great. Hope you get what you want and need from this group. Welcome to BYC!
