Red stars are called many different names like Cinnamon queens, golden comets, gold stars but, they are all the same. It is confusing but, they are a particular cross ,bred so that you can tell what sex they are by their coloring. They are good layers.

Maybe you can post pictures of them - so we can see if you were sold the correct birds.
