Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to you all
smile.png

My name is Jerra, I have 2 gorgeous bantams, Gladys who is black with a brown collar and Ethel who is a partridge. I did have a lovely cuckoo called Gretel but sadly she passed away on Monday.

I am getting 2 more young ladies in the next few weeks. I only began keeping chickens in September 2013 so still have a lot to learn!

Anyway.........that's about it!

Sorry, I'm a bit rubbish at these things!!

Jerra x

Hi there Jerra, You are going to love it here. Sorry to hear about your loss. So you like the mini chickens. I like 'em big. I am going to take this opportunity to show off my big boy, his name is Zaxby.

Would love to see pics of your birds.

Welcome to BYC!

So sorry about the passing of your bird. When you do get more birds soon, introduce them slowly from a cage or in a fenced off area but within the flock at all times. Leave them this way for about 3 weeks. Everybody sees, nobody touches. Come mixing day, it should go fairly well. Keep an eye on everybody that day and the rest of that week. And of course always intervene if it turns bloody.

Enjoy this new adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Thank you all for the warm welcome

Ohh Zaxby is a big lad! He's lovely! I must admit that I would have hundreds of different breeds in all different sizes if I had enough space!

I would love to show you pictures but I haven't learnt how to post them yet! Sorry!

Thank you for the introduction advice, I shall take that on board, I always appreciate hearing from experienced chicken owners and learning from the way other people do things.

I think I am going to love this site too!
