(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am not new to chickens, I grew up with exotic animals, however I am new to trying to run the farm myself. For years I lived and helped out at my parents farm. Now I am on my own trying to do all the things I remember seeing my dad do. I now fully understand the commitment and time it takes. I still love having animals though and find it totally worth the effort

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have three salmon favorelles, and Six splash cochins, plus many pheasants

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have lady amherst pheasants, red-goldens, green mutants, and black shoulder bronze peacocks, buford bronze peacocks, and white peacocks

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I picked up one of the magazine's at a swap meet I was at.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Animals I find are number 1 they are calming after a hectic day at work, other than animals, reading and the occasional scrapbooking day.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I also have two dogs, a pug, and a sheltie, three llamas, boer goats, and african pygmy hedgehogs.

welcome to the site. I have found it to be very helpful, entertaining, and educational. There are folks from all over and all lifestyles from full farm rural to tiny hidden coops in backyards. We all have the common thread of enjoying chickens, whether for food, just the eggs, or for their entertainment and stress-relieving value. Enjoy!
