So glad I found the site never raise chickens before and need a lot of help we are a family of six in Holtom city Texas we have 10 chickens but three brown leghorn is March 1 three Cornish X s and two of those turned out to be roosters March 10 and nine white leghorn hens two white leghorns we found dead in the backyard oh one of the white leghorns is actually a little brown chicken not sure what kind it is anyways really love my chickens don't know if I should get rid of the roosters not sure what I'm doing but hope all the chicken are happy and healthy and just want to say thank you in advanced everybody for any advice that you can given any help

Welcome Desuro! There are tons of knowledgeable and friendly people here at BYC! You can always count on great advice for your chicken's health and happiness!

Advice from one newb to another- have a first aid kit on hand. While BYC members will usually be prompt with helpful suggestions, sometimes you will find that your chickens will need you to have certain medication/tools on hand! Sometimes, medications need to be shipped in and a bird will fail before help arrives. Some members have put together helpful articles here with things you will need for a first aid kit.

And as always, prevention is the best medicine!
