Hello to BYC peeps.

New to BYC forum. Glad to have this resource. Started last year with 6 - three Brahmas and three Links. Learned the drawbacks of stock coops and a bit about predators and respiratory illness last year and lost 2 hens. Added 6 more this Spring. 2 Plymouth Rock Whites, 2 Rhode Island Reds, and 2 Silver Wyandotte’s. Have been building new predator proof coop by myself after seeing the cost of having one built. Building coop inside a 10 x 20 run. Extra big so we can even spend a night away. Glad it’s nearing completion. Tons of work but worth every penny. Happy to share my positive and negatives as a 2nd year veteran.
