My little chicken farm is in Hollywood, SC. This is the second time in my life of having chickens. This time I am looking to make a little income from this hobby, at least enough to pay for themselves.
Currently, I have 57 chickens. Half are 11 weeks and Half are 7 weeks. We also have 10 ducks, most are 3 weeks. The flock is a menagerie of breeds so it is way to many to list completely.
Chickens: Cochin, Americuna, Polish, Orpington, Wyandotte, Maran, Araucana, Rocks, Sussex, Dominiques, Salmon Faverolles, Delaware, Brahma, RIR.
Ducks: Peking, Rouen, Cayuga.
I found the forum looking for advice and ideas on coop plans, feeder ideas, watering systems and general information. This group is a wealth of information and knowledge. I have trolled for long enough it is time to start giving back.
My other hobbies include Scouting, Sailing (my boat is down for repairs), raising black soldier flys, I just picked up body boarding with my son. I do not have much time for these hobbies because I am in seminary working on my masters of divinity.
There are 6 in my family, we have an English Mastiff. I work as a handyman, my wife is a nanny part-time. We home school our children. We are just a normal over busy family that has added the joy of chickens to our lives.
