I just wanted to introduce myself. I am in NE Ohio and just began keeping chickens. Although my family had a poultry farm when I was almost too young to remember, this is my first time as an adult. I currently have two black marans, two silver-laced barnevelders, two ameraucanas, one frizzle and just acquired what are either 5 original (European Type) silkies or a heavy silky cross from a seller who was down-sizing. Whatever......they are totally lovely. So, 12 as of right now (10 girls/pullets and two young roos). Only two have begun to lay so far.

I really look forward to learning from the members here.
