(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I'm a newbie for sure, my daughter and SIL gave us 6 chicks last January since our newly acquired property had an existing coop and run.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 4 hens, 2 roosters

(3) What breeds do you have? Easter Egger rooster (head of flock) EE Hen, 2 Black Star hens and a Welsummer Rooster and hen. All raised together, so Roosters are doing fine together at least so far.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Google

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, reading.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I recently bought our dream home, 10 acres in the Blue Ridge mountains. Children are grown, and while we both work full-time, we have big plans for our new home, starting with our small flock! Lucy, our Australian Cattle dog/Lab mix is a much loved member of our family and so far, chicks and Lucy are doing well together. We let the chickens free-range most days, as my husband works from home.
