I am so Sorry!!!! I know you will protect them better next time. We all learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately we have all learned the hard way that," Oh that should be Good enough!"(strong enough, warm enough, secure enough) Just Is NOT Good enough! There have been millions of chickens die because of their owners learning curve. Or because they trust their " kind, gentle, quiet, loving pet, that would never hurt a fly. He's such a good dog he wouldn't even bite a biscuit! Then they turn their back and POW!!!!! 50 chickens dead or dying!!! Once a dog kills a chicken or tastes fresh blood, Its OVER!!!!! He will be a chicken killer from now on!!!!! It activates the predator gene in them. any dog, any breed, any age, after the first kill, they will be predators for the rest of their lives! The quick movements, loud clucks, and fear bring out the predator in almost all dogs. There are some that are better than others. But even that is just a gamble. Some breeds are better than others but ANY breed can have a killer! It all depends on the dogs training and personality! NO guarantees for any breed!
I am not attacking you at all! Please don't feel that way. I am just saying WE ALL make mistakes, No matter how well we ment or how much planning we do. There will always be exceptions to almost every rule or thought. ANY dog can be a killer!!! No matter how gentle or sweet! Any cage or pen can be gotten into! It just depends on the attacker and their determination! If we as protectors open or eyes and realize this, our animals can be better protected. Good enough is not good enough, ....etc and that ANY ANY ANY dog can be and is a killer! Its just a matter of when that drive will be triggerd! You always hear people say I've had him for ??? years and he's never done this before! He is always so good with my other animals. I just don't know what happend! ANY DOG CAN BE A KILLER!!!!!!! Just like the neighbor! ..... He was always just a nice quiet guy. LOL Then he kills and eats half the neighborhood!
So sorry again!!
Good Luck and God Bless!
