Hello, very green beginner here.

I just got started with my fist flock of eight birds 8 weeks ago. I have been lurking here and got a lot of useful advice so i thought it was time to sign up and get full benefit of this site.
We got eight pullets and we got out first egg on Dec. 26, yesterday we got four eggs. I couldn't imagine how much fun this would be.

I remember when I got my first chickens over year and a half ago I got a polish and two exbatteries, the next day I opened the nesting box and saw a cream egg, it's soo rewarding!
But I warn you chickens are addictive!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
The orange and white dog is Jack, he is my 13 yo Brittany. The avatar photo is from when I first put the chickens in their coop. The boys had all the exits covered.
I am still learning to "talk" chicken but so far it is real easy to pick out the top two birds and the bottom bird in the pecking order.
