Great choices in breeds! If you want a dark specked egg, a Welsummer would fit in that more docile group. I wouldā€™ve recommended the exact breeds you picked! My son picked a Lavender Orpington for that exact reason.

One other thought. Maybe hold off on a second orderā€¦you will definitely want more chicks next year. Better to wait and add a second group when chicken math kicks in again in a year! šŸ˜‚ Unless, of course, you have room to add every year lol.

I know individual personality plays a role as well, but I love my PBR's.

Wow, that's great! I love hearing this. Do you just have the one PBR right now, or multiple? I'd heard that having multiple PBRs can be problematic, that they can get cliquey and bully, which is what turned me off. Now I'm wondering if maybe having just one is the answer.

She is by far the friendliest & cuddliest, followed by an Easter Egger & a Wyandotte. Adding Orpingtons, Faverolles, Sussex & Welsummers this year to get some more cuddlers! ā¤ļø My Australorp are very friendly but donā€™t like lap sitting. There should be no drama with those!
