We recently purchased 5 chicks from a local feed store. We let our daugher pick them, so they are all different in color, but we have (according to the receipt) a Barred Rock, a Buff Orphington, a Black Australorp and two Ameraucanas. They are growing fast!

So sad, lost our Black Australorp two weeks ago, can't really tell where anything breached the coop but we reinforced anyways...so far no more lost. There were a few feathers, but nothing else...a fox maybe?
 
Welcome from College Station, Texas. Sorry about your loss. We lost one of our young ones the other day (about 4 months old). She and her brother wandered across the street, and she didn't return. The most likely culprit is a neighbor dog, or a hawk, or a raccoon. We don't get many foxes around here.
