Hello!- what do you think I’ve got?

Morning

I’ve just joined!

My broody silky hatched 3 polish eggs. 1 normal and 2 of them are frizzles (one looks bearded which is exciting)

Any polish frizzle experts out there? What do you think I’ve got.

Ta Hannah
Hi Hannah- So they look pretty young still, are they about 8-10 weeks? The frizzle looks kind of roo'ish at the moment, but frizzles are notoriously hard to sex, polish in general are hard to sex, I have some that I can't tell until they are about 14-15 weeks sometimes. The other thing is a dominant male will cause other males to slow down signs of being young roos. It really makes breeding them and selling them a little challenging, lol. However, they are beautiful! In looking at the pictures I would say the other two look kind of pullet'ish, but I think they are really too young to know for certain. A lot of times you can tell the pullets from the cockerels by looking at leg sizes, males will be much thicker than the females, also the nares will be much larger on males and more pronounced. The males will also start to redden in their faces and in the wattles earlier on. I would be more than happy to keep looking at them for you the older they get. I do usually get some boys crowing by about 10 weeks, but even that isn't a dead give away, I have seen videos of pullets crowing! Such a crazy breed, but I love them so much. I will attach a pic of a young male, where you can see the reddening in his face that I am trying to explain.
