Hello World!

I am brand new to chickens - and I don't have any yet. I am in Columbus, Ohio and I would like to meet other people who have a small number of hens and learn about it hands-on. I would also like to know how you find the laws about chickens in your area. Google search has only gotten vague answers about my area. And a call to my town's Code Officer did not get returned. I am very excited to meet this community and learn more! Thank you!

I'm not sure how to find info on laws in your area. A google search is the first thing I think of, but looks like you've already tried that.

Search for your local extension office. Or county extension office. They will be able to tell you or point you in the right direction. I can’t help you with the hands on, but you’ve come to the right place to learn. Everything from coop building to feed selection, chick and chicken care, everything here. Welcome.

When I got chickens, I called my local city hall about chicken laws and coop permits.

If that doesn’t work, it helps to go there physically.
