(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
we are not NEW to chickens, as we had chickens when we lived in Wisconsin, however they were already laying when we got those chickens (purchased Auracanas at an auction).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Received 18 chickens this morning (Post Office called me at 0645 hrs). These were purchased from "Healthy Chicks and More" and arrived chirping and lively. I then purchased 6 more assorted chickens from our Atwoods store in Fort Smith, as well as2 guinea hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Araucanas, Rhode Island Reds, Black Astralops, Barred Rocks, Silver Laced Wyandotts, Light Brahmas, Mirocas

I quilt, my husband, Mike, fly fishes

We are both retired. I retired at 57 yo when we moved from Wisconsin to Arkansas. My husband wanted to get out of cold and snow in Wisconsin and transferred with the Postal Service in October 2010. He retired from the Postal Service in November 2011. He works part time in a sporting goods store 2 days a week and fishes just about all the rest of the time.
We have 3 dogs, Shasta, a golden retriever mix, Zoe a little "dust mop" dog and Scottie, an Australian Shepard/Rough Collie/Great Pyrenees mix (he is Mike's buddy and goes fishing with Mike whenever/wherever he goes.)
