Hello,..

Good morning, I just wanted to invite everyone to take a look at the coop-build.

It's a nice coop. One change I would strongly recommend however if you have any predators in your area is covering that weld wire with hardware cloth. Some predators such as weasels, rats, and snakes can squeeze through the openings in your weld wire, and raccoons will reach through the openings with their paws, grabbing chickens, pulling them against the wire, and tearing off body parts. Adding hardware cloth will add some extra expense to your run, but it's cheaper than constantly having to replace members of your flock. There is a good article at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2013/07/11-tips-for-predator-proofing-chickens.html on predator proofing your chickens.

Thank you for your suggestion Michael. Actually, that is what I'm still waiting on. I might have it listed as 1/2x1/2 welded on a plan but I'm waiting on 24" x120'. The coup itself uses about 65 feet but the attatched yard that will have the first 24" wrapped with the hardware cloth and the upper 48" wrapped with 2x4 wire.... And I am using the greatest idea from another member to cover the yard with a stretch tarp. Sorry, I'm getting ahead of my self...oh, also, just seeded a new area with some winter rye and wrapped it with chicken wire to keep the girls out.

Oh, WOW. I just went and looked at that tread again ...lol... The last pic has that pin made of horse fence...lol... That has a great story to it but I'm gonna save that for another day...hehe
