I'm in Lexington, ky. My daughter just got her 1st two chickens today. They hatched them at school and the kids were allowed to bring a couple home if they wanted. She got 2 black chicks. We don't know what they are. They are 1 week old. I've never raised chickens before, so it will be an experience for both of us.

    Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congrats on your new chicks! I'm sure the children at school really enjoyed watching the hatch, it's an amazing thing to watch as the chick emerges from the egg. Please do drop by the link CT left for you, lots of great articles that will help you keep your chicks happy safe and healthy.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your chicks. Ask all the questions you need to. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
