My name is Darci. My husband, Josh and I have had 4 hens for over a year and just hatched 3 chicks under one of our Rhode Island Reds. Hoping for advice and knowledge to improve our hatch rate next time around.
Our current flock:
2 Rhode Island Red hens
1 Easter Egger hen
1 White Leghorn hen
1 White Leghorn chick
1 Barred Rock chick
1 Bantam Black Wyandotte chick

Hi :welcome Darci

Glad you could join us here! Those are some lovely breeds you have in your flock. The incubating and hatching section of the forum would be a great place for you to check out, here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-amp-hatching-eggs
Wishing you the very best of luck for next time. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Our disappointing first hatch already has me wanting to have my husband go out and buy me a bunch of chicks. Our third chick that hatched yesterday died. 2 live chicks out of 12 original eggs has me really bummed out.

Well, I hope your remaining chicks stay alive and healthy.

There are tons of helpful articles on incubating and brooding chicks on here.

Or, like Yorkshire Coop said
