Hello

Thank you for the welcome. I returned the roosters to where I bought them as chicks. They paid us $30. Going to a free range farm to pick out some hens that are 6 months old. I was so sad to have to return the roosters but we are not allowed to have them in our town. Anyways, I will post pics when we get our new girls.

Glad to hear they allowing the return, there is no rules here about any
of the sort I choose not have one as I don't want to deal with chicks
and having many I couldn't sell and was stuck with....

Miss Oli, where 'bouts in California might you be...? :)

I'm almost smack-dab in the middle of the state, and indeed, most communities are pretty cool about hens but not roosters.

Ha! Couple of times a neighbor's rooster has flown over the fence at dawn and serenaded my son by sounding off right under his bedroom window. The lad was not amused... and I thought for sure we were gonna have a chicken dinner.

I am in Los Angeles area. I have close neighbors so I know they would not be happy with a crowing rooster. Ha. So I didn't want to risk it!
