Hello

Cool ill start looking for eggs. I have the nesting boxes prepped for them when they start. I have had them on layer feed for about 2 weeks now. I also have been mixing in oyster shells with their food forbthe same time. Theyare frre range from around noon until dark so i havent been guving them and grit. The orpingtons are both roosters so those two and the golden/barred looking rooster will be rehomed. I have a friend who wants them and will trade me them for 3 hens around the same age. I am keeping the black mixed breed rooster. He is super nice. Eats out of the kids hands and isng aggressive yet. If does turn aggressive i will trade him away too. Thanks for all your input everyone.

Awesome, sounds like you have it pretty well figured out then :)

One thing I would suggest though is to offer the oyster shell free choice, in a separate container, rather than mixing it in with the feed. It's better to let the birds choose the amount of calcium they need and want and it's likely too much calcium for the roosters. As for the grit, you're right that they may be able to pick some up free ranging, depending on what sort of groumd you have, so that's probably fine. Good you have a home for the other roos and sounds like one you're keeping is a nice boy :)
