Hello All,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Ryan, and I'm in Springfield, OR. My wife talked me into BYC for both the reason our toddler son should have some "pets" (animals), and because at the time he was eating at least 4 eggs a day (he's just three now).

We have six chickens, which are all about 19 weeks now (eggs soon!), but still have questions occasionally (I'm about to ask one in the "what gender/breed is this?").

We have: three ameraucanas, a Cuckoo Maran, a golden sex link, and a buff Orpington.

Thanks for the welcomes, and I look forward to reading, and getting answers. =)

Thanks very much everyone! Already got an answer about my gender question (sadly, a cockerel). But I think my other 5 are good to go (haven't confirmed, but they all look much more pullet than this one did).

1/6 being miss-classed. That normal, high, low?

Nice to meet you Ryan. One cockerel is a lot better than the 4 out of 5 or 5out 7 cockerels some folks have been stuck with recently.
