I am new to BYC because my chicken has an injured foot. I like toast.

Dunno. Not sure what happened to it. Buts it's on the top of one toe - there was this big black scab. I loosened it up some and about a couple of weeks later it fell off, along with the toe nail.

Its bloody and slightly swollen, and is now wrapped and bandaged.

Hello and welcome from Antreville, SC. I would treat it just like a cut to my finger, peroxide it and maybe a little ointment. Hope it gets better soon.

Welcome to Backyard chickens! I am glad you were able to successfully take care of your chickens toe! Don't share too much of your toast with your chickens, it will give them sour crop!

Hi everyone and thanks. I posted about it in the injuries forum. Just cleaned the cage and I'm gonna reward and retreat the toe. And I'll make extra toast to reward myself.
