Hello everyone, I am a new member to BYC! Yay! Anyway, I know there are a lot of questions to be answered so I will start with the first one which would be how long ago I got my first chickens, well it's been about 12 yrs. Second question is of how many I have right now, since I moved away from my parent's house who has a cock/rooster and 11 hens that don't sleep in the chicken coop (long story) I found 15 fertilized eggs that one of our hens wasn't laying on at the time and took them because they would die as soon as they hatch because of the weather (Idaho weather) so now I am incubating them in a very poor manner (heat lamp) but so far so good, only three didn't make it
. Now for the third question which is what breeds my chickens are, well the chicks that are gonna be hatching soon are Plymouth Barred Rock and Golden Sex Link mixes and the ones at my Moms place are 4 Golden Sex Link hens and 3 Plymouth Barred Rock hens and one PBR rooster named Domino, then my Mom has one Americana Bantam hen named Rosalie, one Old English Bantam hen named Mini, one white Silkie Bantam Cochin hen named Cotton Elle and one Buff Brahma Bantam Cochin hen named Momma Brahma. Hopefully no cockerels though 'cause of where I live right now. Fourth question which would be how I found out about BYC! Well my Mom came across it 10 yrs ago when we were having rooster problems, and have been checking out the sight ever since, so I finally got brave and joined! Now for the fifth question which would be what are some of my favorite hobbies and I would have to say anything that involves helping animals, playing Piano, painting, drawing, playing video games and listening to music. Sixth question! About my family, well I come from a large family of 7 other siblings. I am currently living with some friends of mine that are awesome. Pets! I have a beautiful purebred GSD puppy and a rabbit that I am trying to find a name for. Well, that's about it and if you have any questions about me or if I simply missed anything just let me know, anyway let's start talking chickens!
