I am a new member and very excited to join because I have been using this forum as a reference for almost a year. I finally joined because I do have a question. We're having some rain right now in north Cali and my two grown chickens love to go in the rain. Will they get sick though? I make sure to put them in their coop before night and there is currently a heating lamp in the coop for the lil chicks and ducks(who are separated). I know they get dry, I'm just wondering if they can still get sick? I read threads about chickens and rain and only one person said they'll get sick and a majority of ppl say just goofy chickens. Sorry for the long post, hope to hear a for sure answer soon! Thank you!

As long as they can come and go freely from coop to run, they will be okay. The ones that hate rain won't go out. The ones that don't care will. Rain brings up worms and other goodies (

Greetings from Kansas, prettychicky, and :welcome! Happy you joined our flock! I have some of my chickens that seem to really enjoy the rain, some that tolerate it, and a couple that seem terrified of it! :idunno Who can decipher the mind of a chicken??. Best wishes to you and your soggy flock! :weee
