Hi all....I've been lurking about for a while and decided to join as I am new to chicken keeping. My neighbors across the road have chickens that frequent our yard so much that I wrote a children's story, "Windsong Wendy". I have been fascinated by chickens and their ways for quite a while and recently made the commitment to a small flock. The hubby built an awesome coop for our girls and am learning more and more each day. We have 3 awkward teenagers now and am looking forward to their egg laying. I did I have a 4th with cross beak that survived for about 9 weeks but was not healthy enough to take the change to the new coop, especially in our CA heat. Miss our little polish girl.
