I'm rather new to the chicken life and don't currently have any chickens but plan to get some in the spring. While doing some research on coops, predator protection, and many other chicken related topics I can across BackYardChickens.com I am so happy that I found this page!! Anyways.. I'm Tracy I'm from a small town in Northwestern PA. I have a husband, 2 daughters, and I'm a furmom. We are in the process of buying a house where we will start our homestead journey. The current plans are to only have chickens as we have 1.5 acres and strict codes/laws we have to follow. I hope we can all help each other and learn a think or two along the way.

Have a great day!

Hi Tracy and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. Congrats on your house purchase.

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive
