I've been a lurker on here for about a year ( i know bad me) I got my first chickens a little over a year ago. I currently have 4 silkie cochin crosses, 3 hens and 1 Roo (Betty, Mabel, Bonnie and Gus) and 4 dark Brahmas, 3 hens and Roo ( Pansy, Petunia, Marigold and Vince). I know some of you are going to say two roosters for such a small flock?! Well to answer that question they get along great! Gus is big man on campus (even tho Vince is about 3x bigger than him), my brahmas are younger and were introduced before vince hit puberty so he knows his place in the pecking order 
Betty and Bonnie are my top hens and are currently both sitting on a clutch of eggs (Gus helps occasionally too) that are due to hatch this weekend so I'm a bit nervous. Decided to go ahead and join just because i figured why not
