Hi. I'm currently working full-time in the suburbs of Chicago and my husband and I are planning our 5 year exit strategy after daughter graduates. I don't currently have chickens, but have varied household pets (cats, dogs, a rabbit and a guinea pig)

I would love to raise heritage breeds such as the Dominique, Barred Plymouths, and Silver Campine.

I enjoy cooking, and am learning to can and put up preserves. This has lead to trying my hand at gardening as well.

That was exactly our plan.. The kids were gone, moved on, and the house was empty..
Slowly got to the level that we are on now.. Then the grandson factor! He loves exploring and hanging out with all the critters! He runs from the car to the animals every time he comes over.
