Hi there! I've been reading posts here for a while and finally got involved!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens this year, and loving it! We got our first little nuggets in March.
(2/3) How many chickens do you have right now? What breeds do you have?
I currently have 8 egg chickens: 3 Rhode Island Red, 2 Leghorn, 2 Barred Rock, and one ISA Gold who runs the show. We also have 2 guinea hens, and had 8 cornish cross
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Recommended to me at a chick raising seminar
(5/6) What are some of your other hobbies? Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My fiance and I are working on building our 17-acre homestead outside Albany, NY. Our goal is to provide all our own meat and produce, organically when possible, through gardening, hunting, fishing, and raising our own chickens. We also have a cat, dog, lizard, and fish. I pretty much live to clean up poop, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
