Just joined and really enjoy reading everyones posts. I am beginning to embark on the adventure of raising chickens. I hope to be going by spring. I am starting to build my coop now and buying the supplies I may need. Not looking to go large scale just want to have anywhere from 8 to 25 birds. I am looking at getting the rhode island reds. My wife and I just want some eggs for us and family/friends. If anyone has any suggestions for this ole first timer please let me here them. I have just been reading and talking and trying to figure the best coop to build and best birds for eggs. Again thanks for a great site. Scott

First off, a GREAT BIG WELCOME to ya! You'll find absolute gold mines of information here, and too many wonderful people to count who are very generous with their experience and wisdom; take full advantage of it! A good place to start is on the index page that has different topics sorted by category according to your particular interest or line of questioning. The FAQ section is helpful, too. Hope to see you around! God bless!
