Hello, fellow chicken lovers. I started raising chickens about 15 years ago when my kids were small. I built a small tractor and free ranged them. They were a part of the family,but between some cold winters in central ma. And hungry predators they only lasted 5 years. This time I'm going to do it right. Thinking about building " the triple c" coop/run for about 5 hens to start. Then adding solar powered motion lights around coop to deter predators. I love this site,and besides taking so much useful info from it,I thought I could share what I learn from this great hobby.l

Hello, Michael, welcome to BYC. You might want to consider hot wire or electric fencing around your run to deter predators. Good luck with your new flock.
