Hello and welcome to BYC!
Usually local Farm and feed stores sell chicks. However, availability and choices are often limited. Many hatcheries take orders for chicks (Meyer, Mccmurray and My Pet Chicken are a few I know of off the top of my head), which is neat if you want specific breeds or want chicks at a time that Farm and Feed stores do not offer them. However, picking a breed that will suit you is really important for the optimal chicken keeping experience (as I have come to realize over the years).
