Hi!
My chicken coop is almost finished, and I am about to inherit 7 pullets and 2 roosters from my mother. I'm looking to buy more pullets this winter (10-20) depending on the financial constraints.
Where can I buy them from? Is it worth it? Should I buy chicks instead?
I am located in Tioga County NY
If anyone has an websites they can refer me to that would me helpful.
I have reached out to a few farms in my area but no luck yet.
Thanks

Check Facebook and Craigslist. I've see pullets listed there when I listed cockerels for rehoming. I strongly suggest quartining though since you never what sort of conditions the birds are living in.

Do you want baby pullets or older pullets? May want to ask in our NYer thread too, there’s a bunch of us there that might have some local info for you!

I'm looking for pullets that are close to laying or have already started.
Pretty much just old enough to withstand the winter without a heat lamp!
I will definitely post this in the NYer thread thank you for that info.
